A trip to the Zoo

I took Ella to the zoo today. There were GOBS of kids there. Lots of field trips. She did good, except for a brief meltdown in the butterfly exhibit, which elicited this comment from a lady standing nearby- "She sure is a handful"-of course we had to be in the enclosed exhibit, where you have to wait for an attendant to let you out. It was really not that bad- and it was a great day to be outside. By the time we left- around 1:00- there were several other melt downs occurring all around us! She seemed to like looking at the animals and other kids around. I enjoyed a hotdog from the zoo cafe- I Love hotdogs, really- I'll eat them any chance I get! Ella enjoyed curly fries and some grapes and ham I brought for her. I think her favorite exhibit was the penguins. You could see them swimming underwater- and walk right up to the glass. Most of the time she was more interested in the trees and plants that she could reach than looking at the animals in their cages-or-habitats. She would really like a petting zoo. She has been taking LONG naps- maybe catching up from the weekend. She is also working on her eye teeth and has some kind of bug settling in her chest- I hope it clears up fast. Anyway- here are some new pictures of Ella. The first two are at my parents house. The others are in our backyard.

What a doll. I am glad you had fun at your parents house and at the zoo. We haven't taken Brayden yet but plan to this summer.

She's such a doll, Amanda - I just love seeing your little baby girl's beautiful face on Sunday. And I adore her name!

She is so sweet. Again, I can't wait to meet her in a couple of weeks! Care Bear had a similar melt down at our annual trip to the zoo last summer. We had had a great time, but the fun was done! It had been a long day and ice cream at McDonald's on the way home helped immensely.

It looks like she may be taking after her mommy in the gardening area. :-)

Can't wait to meet her very soon!

Awwww...she is precious in the pictures. I can't wait to take Justice to the zoo, he will enjoy it I know. I can't remember whether I have been here before, but we have some similarities-I am a former socialworker, now SAHM to my son who was born in August and my blog has blessed life in it--pretty cool.
