Check, babies and upcoming events
Update on the check situation. The bank said that the check had been washed. So, someone stole our check, used a chemical wash to clean everything but the signature off, and re-used it. The bank refunded the money, since we had the carbon copy of the check- so all is well. I am SO glad to was not a stolen check-book!
We had a good visit with Chad's parents. It seemed short and quick- but they had alot to do and alot of people to see, so- we are just glad for some time with them. They will be back at Christmas.
Baby Silas, my nephew, is doing good. He is a cute baby and so nice to cuddle. It will be amazing to see the change in him at the time Thomas comes. Just 4 months away! You can see him Here.
On the baby front, I am 6 months pregnant this week and I am really noticing his presence more and more! He seems to be high, I feel like he is up in my ribs a lot- this did not happen as soon with Ella. Maybe he will be bigger. I have to pee a lot more than I did with Ella, and my vitamins still make me sick. I threw one up yesterday- I even took it on a full stomach. I'll talk to the doctor about that. He is really active in the afternoon- during Ella's nap and more active at night than Ella was. Anyway- I am excited to meet him soon.
Chad leaves Friday for Denver. It is a trip to pick up a structure for a performance at our church, but more importantly- he will be watching the Denver Broncos play. Chad has been a fan forever and this will be his first game- so I am really glad he gets to go. My parents will be here while he is gone- so that will be fun. He returns Monday and we host a Halloween party Tuesday night.
I am excited about the weekend and the party- I like to be a hostess. I have a few games rattling around in my mind to play. We are going to have chili for dinner- people are to bring the rest of the food- to supplement. I am going to make pumpkin bars too. I have a tendency to do more than is necessary when hosting- so I am trying to keep it simple. Otherwise I will blow my entire grocery budget on one night! We hosted a Halloween party a few years ago and it was fun. I am not sure how many will be here yet- but we could have as many as 18-20. We had quite a few trick-or-treaters last year, and will probably have more this year- so Ella will love that, since she LOVES to greet people at the door.
Tonight we are going to a pumpkin patch with our Sunday school class. It should be a fun time- Ella will like wandering around in the dirt. My sister and her husband are coming too- so we may have to watch a few episodes of The Office afterwards with them!

Crazy how as I learn more about you the more we have in common. My husband is a die hard Bronco fan. He grew up in Denver, so we are a Bronco household too. Chad will have so much fun.
Will we get to see him, or will he not make it up this way?
This is going to be a tough game, with an undefeated team. Fingers crossed!!
That is so scary that they can wash a check and re-use it!! Yikes!
I didn't know about the check deal, that is insane. I've never even heard of that happening. Glad it was all figured out though.
That's really scary about the check. Last summer at our office retreat, we had speakers and police come in and talk to us about identity theft. They talked about people washing out checks and as a gift to everyone in the office, we were given pens that protect against check washing. With these pens it is impossible to do that. I can send you mine. I don't have a checking account. ;-)
I can't believe you're six months already! It's going so fast. Probably more so for you, huh?
