There were several reasons that I was not hopeful as I got out of my car to look. First, the store is a snowboard/ski/skater store. Second, there are never jeans 70% off in size 7-9. Third, I had already found several things in my shopping trip- it couldn't happen that I could find something at BOTH places I stopped, and finally I actually had money to spend. Needless to say, I did not anticipate finding anything. As I shuffled through the pile, my heart began to flutter a bit, There were several pairs of jeans in my size among the size 0's and size 16's! I took them in, trying to hide my growing excitement over the possibility of new jeans. I waited and WAITED for the girl in the dressing room to try on and model 100,000 tank tops for her Grandma, and finally got to enter the curtained space and tried them on. The first few, as expected, were no good. Too much hip, too small waist, to short--. I got to the last two pair, not really feeling discouraged, just feeling that, "Yup, I knew it" feeling. As I pulled the first up, my heart began to flutter a bit faster, they felt good. Zip and button, turn around, look at fanny . . . I had to stop myself from run out of the dressing room jumping up and down, hugging everyone in the store exclaiming, "They fit, they fit, they FFFFIIIIIIITTTTTTT!!!"
The second pair- THE.SAME.THING!!!!! Oh Happy day- new jeans!
So, I am now the owner of two pair of highly priced jeans. That is a first for me. They were $20.00 and $30.00, with the discount. I almost hesitated with these, due to to the embellishments, but, as you can see, decided I was still young enough. I have never brought a piece of clothing home with a price tag like this before--
Oh, you may think that is the end of the good weekend - - Not so fast- there's more!
Sunday, we went to yet another church. We were greeted so warmly by so many people. There were lots of kids running around, and several toddlers in the nursery. The sermon was great. There were missions related bulletin boards in the hallways, which is something that is important to us. We met a couple who have a daughter Thomas's age. They invited us to Mexican for lunch, and we had a great time with them! It felt like a date, and afterward we evaluated it in the same way that you would a date! Chad said, "Okay, we can't call them tomorrow- we can't look desperate." So, we have decided that that will be our church home. I am going to go to the ladies Bible study on Thursday.
Sunday evening, one of our neighbors came over with her 8 year old daughter. Ella was so eager to play and show her everything. She played with Ella, but was more interested in Thomas, which was hard for Ella to accept. Ella will really enjoy some friends.
Okay, that's it- off to the laundry abyss- - -

Yay! I am so glad you found a church home and possibly some friends. I will pray you find the same enthusiasm at the Bible Study! And Yay for the jeans! What a good weekend!
My heart started to flutter reading your post. I love a great deal. I am so glad you guys found a church you like.
nothing like a good deal. Glad you found a church that you like-it makes all the difference when there are other kids there.
Amanda, you are so good with words! You must be a great storyteller for the kids. You make a girl feel the heart flutters and tummy rumbles as she hopes against hope that THIS WILL BE THE DAY, for sale, or sleep, or whatever! Ha! Keep writing! At the VERY least, you'll encourage and inspire your own kids' expression and enhance their composition skills. And at the best -- who knows! You might end up making $1000 / month writing children's stories -- about life! It's so good to watch you enjoying the journey!

I'm a little teary-eyed. Horray. We sat by Jen and Cary at SS. They said they were really glad they'd called.
