2009

We are enjoying a quiet New Years Day at home. Last night, our church had a bi-annual New Years Eve variety show. Chad was one of the announcers at the event. It was a fun time. Families and kids entertained everyone with songs, skits, and other talents. It was really laid backs, lost of laughs and fun memories. It was another great time with this church family. We came home and Blake, Jana and the girls were here waiting in their car for us. We have had a fun time with them- Chad and Blake are headed out on a run. Not unusually, except for the fact that it has been snowing all day and they will definitely be running in several inches of powdery snow. The kids and guys went out this morning and played in it.

Allison, Andi, Ella and Thomas on the back deck This is Allison being tossed into the snow by Chad and Blake-Jana stood inside and did the perfect Mom gasps with each throw. This is the current state of Ella's bedroom- We are having a great time!

The Christmas weekend with Chad's family turned out good; The first in several years that we have not had thwarted travels due to weather, or medical issues. We had a great house in Olympia that we rented and stayed at. We played games, laughed at the kids, refereed the kids, ate, opened presents- all the things that are expected to happen at a family Christmas gathering.

The whole gang- Breklinn and EllaChad with his siblings- The little boys- Some shots of the house where we stayed-

So the New Year begins. I have had little time to reflect on the past year and the year to come. Hopefully I will be able to carve out some quiet time in the next few days to do that. Until then, I will be packing away Christmas decorations, transferring information from 2008 to 2009 calendars and getting this family back into some kind of regular routine. Happy New Year!

Oh Amanda, that total family picture is about as perfect as they come. What a beautiful shot!

It sounds like you guys had such a wonderful time together. I wish my grands had cousins like that!

The house looks great and I love your family picture.

Normalcy - we're finally getting there after having 31 people together for a week! But Dwight's been sick all week - sicker than he's been in my memory. Some kind of nasty virus.

It'll be good when school starts again and things really get back to a routine that we're used to.

Kev and Angie are who knows where right now. Kev's flight was delayed enough for him to miss his connection from London to Nairobi. We haven't heard since this morning. Please pray for them to reunite somewhere over there far, far away!
