We have had a fun time in the last few days with friends. Thursday night we had dinner with a family who moved here in September. Ella and their daughter are great buddies- and Thomas tags along happily. It was a great night- and to top it all off, she made a DELICIOUS homemade cherry pie. She might quite possibly be my new best friend.

Friday we had friend here, and tonight we had friends over. Fun. I love the way the house feels after a busy night of kids playing, great food and company.

Chad and I have really been enjoying our YMCA memberships. We are keeping track of our running this year- it will be fun to see how many miles we actually run. Ella and Thomas have done fine in the childcare area, which is FREE for members. Awesome. I get a complimentary locker and towel, if I want it, each visit. Awesome. I get to watch t.v. while I work out. Awesome. AND I can take a shower and get ready without children at my feet when I am finished. Awesome. They even have good blow dryers in the locker rooms!

Chad and I set goals every year, or at least for most of the years we have been married. One of them this year is to have a vegetarian meal once a week. This does not mean nachos, or grilled cheese, or pancakes. It is an attempt to eat more vegetables and try new things and be healthier. So far we have had a good bean dish, and last night I fixed an Indian Lentil soup that was good too. Feel free to pass on any good recipes!

Chad is waiting for me, so we can watch the newest episode of The Office. Awesome. I'm OUT-

Sounds like fun times at the Duerre place!

I've never watched The Office - I think it's a generational thing - like Friends was.

I love lentil soup. I love the "awesome" at the end of each phrase, cracked me up.

Did Chad eat the lentil soup? That's got to be amazing. Ask him about the lentil soup aversion from childhood. Ha.
Good for you. I love lentil soup.

We regularly have split pea soup (without bacon or ham) at our house--its a well loved vegetarian meal here and the trick is to use a blender to blend up the carros, onions, celery and peas before serving it--it makes it nice and thick and the girls can't see the "yucky stuff" and love the taste. I have a super easy recipe I can email you if you'd like!
