We had our 4th presentation for Peru this weekend. We spoke to the Sunday school class that we have been a part of since we have been married(minus the last two when we were in Ketchum). It was difficult for me to get started- I felt like I fumbled around a bit before I got on track. Chad said he felt that a little too. Despite that, the feedback we have received has been encouraging. It is good for us to tell people about our journey. It reminds us of how big God is, how small we are, and how amazing it is that He has asked us to be a part of His work in Peru.

As of today, we have been pledged/given about $23,000. $64,000 is our goal. That will cover our flights to Peru, language school, ministry training and setting up a home in Peru. Our monthly living and ministry expenses for our time in Peru are also covered by that amount. This was our last scheduled presentation, so the remainder of our fund-raising will most likely be through phone call and personal meetings. Our goal is to have our support in place by the end of February. Pray for us when we come to mind. I have never felt the need for prayer support like I do now.

In the mean time, life keep happening. Driving in the car last week, Ella and Thomas had a conversation about why boys cannot have babies in their tummies. Ella explained to Thomas that Daddy's have rough cheeks and Mommy's have smooth cheeks. Babies only like smooth cheeks, so THAT is why boys cannot have babies. She did acknowledge the fact that Thomas does indeed have smooth cheeks now, but insisted that one day his cheeks would be rough- and THAT is the reason why he cannot have a baby in his tummy. I was glad to be able to just listen and not have to explain or clarify anything- just yet anyway!
