Day One

My parents were in town over the weekend and were such a help as Chad and I prepared to leave. They took us to the airport yesterday morning. I am so glad they came back for the last few days we were there.

We got to warm, humid Florida late last night with no kinks and are settled in the dorms we are staying in while we are here. We have a room for our family, and a room for all our bags. Ella and Thomas have been fascinated by the little lizards that are all around. Ella even found a dead one in the bathroom, and brought it to our room to show me- and we are not even out of the country yet! Fun stuff- The kids on one of the three airplanes we rode on yesterday. They only watched one movie, and spent the rest of the time reading, drawing and playing. They did SO great! We have babysitting arranged for the kids while we are in meetings. They had a blast today playing. The long day yesterday and busy play day today caught up with Thomas at dinner. He was wiped out and was falling asleep while eating his french fries. After dinner, I took Thomas back to sleep and Chad and Ella want to the beach with a group of people. Chad said that Ella giggled the entire time. I am excited to go with everyone tomorrow. We have classes in the morning, then will spend the afternoon at the beach! Chad got some great pictures of Ella- Ella has amazing curls in the Florida humidity!! Thanks for your prayers- we felt them yesterday and continued to be re-assured when we remember all those who are lifting us up. We love you!!

Thanks for the speedy update! I didn't realize you are staying in Florida first and so I have been praying only for your orientation in Peru! Ha, I guess that's what happens when you live half way around the world! I was thinking that when your are in Peru you and I really can't get much further apart! I will keep praying for you all...no matter where you go!
