The rest of this post has nothing to do with the event- just more info. about daily life!
I did some laundry this afternoon and thought I would post the process. I had no idea what I was doing the first time I did this! I do this once a week with our underwear and socks. I cannot imagine doing this with ALL of our clothes. We take them to a laundry mat to be washed. It would take me all day long to do it this way! This is where I do laundry.
The detergent goes in the tub and the soap bar is for stains or extra dirty clothes.
Step 1: Fill the tub with water and detergent
Step 2: Add clothes
Step 3: Let clothes soak in the sunshine and scrub stains or extra dirty areas
Step 4: Drain disgusting water
Step 5: First Rinse
Step 6: Second rinse
Step 7: Final rinse
Step 8: Ring water out of clothes
Step 9: Hang clothes on line
The kids played with some toys in this tub while I worked and got SO dirty. It is really dusty on the roof.
Here is a look at the clothes I washed.
Start time 1:49pm. Finish time 2:53pm. The clothes will not be dry by the time the sun sets tonight, so I will go up tomorrow afternoon and take the clothes off the line. That's it. Just one of many new things we have experienced here in Peru!

Sheesh you guys are nasty to have clothes that dirty.. haha just kidding. Your kids are so great, just hanging out and having fun while mom washes the socks and underwear. We miss you all!!
Miss YOU too. Yesterday's VBS theme was "God's word is comforting!" Take comfort in his promises and provision for your life. I think this is SUCH a neat opportunity for your kids. love you guys!
Just think - our grandparents did that all the time - and in the cold of Minnesota winter!
Dwight says hi and he's praying for you.
Weird - I don't see your posts on FB any more with your link.
Isn't it amazing how much time and energy "daily life" takes? Not to mention trying to adjust to a new culture and language, and balancing family and ministry. It's not easy. We're praying for you!
