Weekend

Friday night we were invited to dinner by our pastor and his wife. It was a fun evening getting to know one another. She had a basket of toys waiting for the kids, a highchair for Thomas (they have 4 boys over 15yrs. old) and little sippy cups for both the kids. I am so thankful to find people that love on our kids too! While we were there Chad and Pastor planned a mountain bike ride for Saturday morning. Chad came home from the ride excited about exploring more trails that way. Hopefully I can get out with him soon-that bike trailer is just not very conducive to trail riding!

Saturday night Chad and I went out in celebration of our anniversary. We ate AMAZING food at a very nice restaurant. After the waiter gave us the detailed description of the specials and left us to decide, Chad turned to me and said, "He might as well have been saying, blah, blah, blah, blah, steak, blah, blah, blah, fish." We had no idea what most of the ingredients he mentioned were, but they tasted great and were quite pricey. We both agreed that it would be GREAT if we had the means to eat there weekly! After dinner, we went to a play at the local theatre. It was a "pay what you feel" showing, so we paid what we felt, and walking in, proud of ourselves for doing something different.

We walked out realizing that we just don't truly appreciate "culture" as much as some do. It was okay- a fun thing to experience, but I don't think we will buy ticket bundles. It was a fast pace, chaotic comedy. We giggled a few times, but some people laughed with their heads flung back, slapping their knees with tears in their eyes. We did get a laugh out of this wish list posted in the program. Hmmmm, what to give, what to give?...copier paper or . .

Sunday evening we ended the weekend Jade, Trish and Halle. We met them for pizza, sat out on the restaurant patio and caught up with one another. Thomas gave himself a ranch dressing facial while we ate. He seems to think that anything that has the consistency of lotion, IS lotion.

Ella is urging me away from the computer to play puzzles, and I cannot resist her. Happy Monday!
