Wow! We had a huge first day of work! Everyone should sleep great tonight. We had six different project today. Construction, evangelism/community service, shopping/baking, school health presentations, a group learning dances to teach at the culture festivals and a group packaging salvation bracelets. I headed up the shopping/baking group and had a great day with Carrie, Skeeter and Denise. First, we went down with my friend Milagros to buy cheap, fresh fruit for the week. Buying straight from the freight trucks gets you a better price, but it is not easy nor efficient! We bought 300 bananas, about 300 apples and 250 mandarin oranges! Whew. We also bought supplies to make (I hope) 30-35 loaves of pumpkin bread. Lots of walking, explaining the sites and getting to know one another. At home, we chatted with the bracelet and dance groups, who were working here as we prepared our 15 loaves of pumpkin bread for a culture fair on Sunday and organized all our fruit. It was so great to have a house full of people today and people coming and going, dropping off and picking up supplies. I love a full house.

The kids are LOVING all the English speakers. They are soaking up the attentions and are being given lots of love from our short term group!
