Wii

Chad and Thomas sword fighting-

We had a fun time with friends tonight. The kids all played great together and we had good conversation. Thomas played Wii for the first time tonight. He has watched people play before, but this was the first time he actually got in on the action. Caden was so thoughtful and patient with Thomas! Ella and Alex has a great time too and played all sorts of games and made jewelry. Ella whispered in my ear after she had finished her necklace and bracelet, "Can we take these to Peru?"I think we may be hearing about Caden and Alex for quite awhile after this evening. It was a great time to be with friends and get away from all the preparations that we are doing. While Chad was getting Ella ready for bed she told him, "Alex is too fun." Both kids were wiped out and slept for most of the ride home.

I did a little craft time with the kids today. I miss all my craft supplies and doing this stuff with them, it does not happen as often as it once did. I am being reminded about how much has changed for them in this process! Their toys have been reduced to whatever can fit in a gallon zip-lock bag. Today, they spent the afternoon playing with their pillowcases- amazing imaginations! Ella has been talking about specific toys that she misses. I know they are just things and that this is teaching her to hold "things" loosely, but it still makes my heart hurt a little for her.

We head to Hailey tomorrow for a visit and to say goodbye to our friends there. I am looking forward to seeing everyone- and being back in the mountains!

It's hard to watch children learn the hard lessons. But you're also teaching them early what are the most important things in life, ie family, sharing, imagination, laughs, and trust. They are learning to trust you, which will translate into the trust for their Maker. You'll be teaching us all alot about FUN!
